Eat For Life is a program that can help facilitate our ability to be guided by our own inner wisdom about what, when, and how much to eat. Based on the premise that DIETS DON'T WORK, the Eat For Life program guides participants away from external means of moderating food intake (e.g. the scale, dress size, food portion size) to more internal means (e.g. taste, sensations of fullness). Through mindful meditation practices and gentle stretching, this program can also help participants learn to take care of themselves with kindness and compassion.

- increase mindfulness
- demonstrate a greater appreciation for their bodies
- cultivate a more intuitive way of eating
- reduce problematic eating behaviors
This program is based on three main themes:
Theme OneFormal mindfulness practices guide us toward behavior that shows greater respect for our bodies.

Theme TwoThe principles of intuitive eating guide us toward increased awareness of how, when, and what to eat.

Theme ThreeThe illumination of mindless eating, coupled with some basics of good nutrition and scientific knowledge guides us to eating decisions that are more conscious and healthy.

All class participants attend a complementary orientation
to better understand the course, and explore whether the program is right for them.
Classes begin 2 weeks later, where we will meet weekly for 2.5 hours.
Participants are also invited to an all-day silent retreat between weeks 6 and 7.
